Halfbrick, developers of Fruit Ninja, have struck gold again. This time with a James Bond-esque jetsetter who breaks into a laboratory to get his hands on experimental jetpacks before the science evildoers take over the world. The game, Jetpack Joyride . If conquered, Money Penny will be impressed. Scanner Pro Makes Multi-Page Scans a Breeze on iPhone

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

As an iPhone- and iPad-toting mobile office executive, I take pride in discovering the apps that help get things done on the road and in the coffee shop, a.k.a. my mobile office. That’s why when I found Scanner Pro , I had to review it as it’s quite possibly one of the most useful business apps on the market and it scans high-quality, readable images to the industry standard PDF file. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to take a picture of a document to send to a client because I don’t have a mobile scanner. Sure, snapping a picture of a single document works, but multi-page documents presents another problem with the camera route – too many attachments – and can get very cumbersome. Scanner Pro not only is capable of simple one page letters, but also multipage agreements. It can add, move, delete pages and even combine pages in landscape and portrait orientations and so much more. Categories Game – Multiplayer is a Throwback to Scattergories

Monday, September 26th, 2011

We came across an app that has flown completely under the radar (as many of them do) and were instantly reminded of the 1980s Hasbro party game Scattergories. This Bluetooth rendition for iPhone and iPad, called Categories Game – Multiplayer , is a basic likeness that can be played locally as well as through Game Center. The Categories Game app gives players a fairly wide assortment of customizable game options and is played pretty much the same way as its table-top inspiration. There are four default categories to start, but players can add as many as they like. Category lists can be tailored to a group of players by toggling saved categories on or off. Additionally, the length of time each round lasts can be pre-selected as well. Bizzy is Perfect Mix of Yelp and Foursquare

Monday, September 26th, 2011

I’m a big fan of Foursquare and while I like leaving “tips” at the places I check-in at and earning badges such as “I’m on a boat”, I’ve always wanted more integration of a rating system for the places I’ve explored kind of like Yelp offers. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised to find  Bizzy , a free mobile app that allows people to quickly and easily “check out” from where they’ve been. However, the best feature of the app is its integration of a ”love it”, “okay” or “no thx” rating system. It seems to be taking the best of Yelp and Foursquare and providing the best in a one app mashup. My Week in Pictures iPhone App Review – Framing Good!

Monday, September 26th, 2011

My Week in Pictures is an interesting take on the current rash of ‘picture frame’ iPhone apps, where you can place various snaps into collage-style frames.  The key difference here is that the app looks at all the photos you’ve taken during a calendar week, then automatically places them into a frame; creating a neat

Naught to Lose with “Naught” for iPhone

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Just when you thought there were no creatively inspired free games left to discover for iPhone, Naught appears. Not nothing, but something – something simple, artistic, and better yet, free to play. Naught is a silhouetted platformer that is gyroscopic free-falling fun just for the heck of it. Naught is the name of the game and presumably this cat that resembles Felix and whom players must move from the start of each level to the exit. Rotating your device 360 degrees to control gravity, Naught must avoid the silhouetted enemies and find the swirly exit. Developed by Blue Shadow Games , this game has no in-depth storyline, no color, and yet it has an eerily artistic appeal and gameplay of a semi-addictive nature. Greedy Bankers vs. The World Out Now for iPad

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

I reviewed Greedy Bankers for the iPhone back in May and awarded it a very impressive 4/5.  Since then I’ve returned to it many times and still enjoy racking up a high score – something which rarely happens with apps I’ve reviewed. News of an iPad HD version of Greedy Bankers soon went public, and instead
