Is the Dokkiri the Ugliest iPhone 4 Case Ever?

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

I quite like my Angry Birds iPhone case, and I wouldn’t mind one of the Be@rbrick cases we featured a while back, however that’s about as far as I’ve wanted to go with animal-related cases.  But if you’re after something far more, um, beetle-y, then how about the Dokkiri? This iPhone 4 case has a rear

Random iPhone App of the Day – Surfin’ Dude

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Although it would be great to have the time to feature all the new apps released each day, it’s simply not possible; however featuring a random one from the many we get submitted to the site isn’t so hard!  So, like a grab bag of iPhone and iPad apps, I searched the iPhonefreak mailbox for

Cybernoid Comes to ZX Spectrum Collection, Makes a Grown Man Cry (but not in a good way)

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

It has been a while since I’ve played Elite’s ZX Spectrum Collection on my iPhone, despite having purchased one of the game packs with the excellent Batty brick-breaker clone.  However, today the app received an update and a variety of new game packs, among them a couple of collections from Hewson. Hewson was responsible for a

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

Remember Ant Raid?  The rather excellent teaser trailer prompted a preview post on the unusual iPad strategy game way back in March, when it was expected to make its debut sometime during the spring. As we moved deeper into summertime, Ant Raid’s release was looking more and more unlikely, however this morning developers Prank Entertainment announced

Next Gamebook Adventure, Temple of the Spider God, Out August

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Having previously reviewed four of the Gamebook Adventure titles, and mentioning a love of the Fighting Fantasy books from my childhood in one of them, it was really exciting to hear about Tin Man Games’ next project entitled Temple of the Spider God, as it’s going to be written by  Fighting Fantasy author Jonathan Green. Now,

Ben the Bodyguard iPhone App Review – Your Secrets Are Safe With Him

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

It takes innovation to breathe new life into a tired genre, a fact which applies to everything from books to film and now, to iPhone apps too.  Storing passwords and other pieces of sensitive information doesn’t make for the most exciting application, and normally the thought of reviewing them would be an instant turn-off. It’s not

Monday, June 27th, 2011

With the release of the iPad 2 with its twin cameras, and the introduction of FaceTime, it was only a matter of time before VoIP experts Skype took a shot at adapting their own video-chat service for the tablet too. You can grab Skype for the iPhone right now, and it looks like the iPad version

Shock! Skullcandy New Vandal Speaker isn’t Vulgar!

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Somewhat surprisingly, hip audio accessory manufacturer Skullcandy has announced a speaker dock for the iPhone and iPod.  While there’s nothing surprising about that exactly, it’s the subtle and actually quite classy design that shocks! Skullcandy’s range of headphones and earbuds have names ranging from the ridiculous Ink’d to the crass Smokin’ Buds, and are primarily for

It’s official, Skype will support video calling on iPad 2 very soon. According to CNET, a Skype iPad application will be released to the App Store on Tuesday, June 28. A video of Skype’s iPad app was first posted on Skype’s official channel and then removed. Thankfully RazorianFly has the original video and it can be seen on their YouTube channel .
