iOS 4.1’s HDR Photo, We Think it’s Great, Do You?

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

If there was one feature of iOS 4.1 that we didn’t expect to cause much heated debate, it was HDR photos.  This is something that was added to the iPhone 4’s camera for free and isn’t all that different from other tweaks like face or smile recognition, in that it’s a software bonus that you

Rule the Gridiron with NFL 2011

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

NFL 2011 is a solid football game that should satisfy most fans and sports gamers. It lacks some of the polish and extra features found in Madden 11 but does enough to make it a worthy competitor. NFL 2011 has three gameplay modes: exhibition, season and playoffs. Exhibition mode is the best way to play if you are just looking to kill some time on a game or starting out. For those wanting further practice there is a more detailed tutorial mode that walks through most of the controls and nuances of the game. The graphics are fairly strong with each NFL team included along with a rendering of their uniforms. There are a few oddities; each player is equipped with black gloves and the stadiums are fairly generic. The home team is designated with the home team’s name and logos in the end zone, on the field and along the sideline walls.(…) Read the rest of Rule the Gridiron with NFL 2011 All App Reviews © AppCraver.com, 2010. | Rule the Gridiron with NFL 2011 | Best iPad Apps | Best Free Apps

Still one of our favorite games on the iPhone, Cat Physics has been taken to version 1.10 which has added 20 new levels and support for iOS 4.  We reviewed the game a short while ago and awarded it a perfect score, and since then we’ve been back to it to attempt a three-star rating

Robot Unicorn Attack: Wish Upon A Star and You’ll Die a Fiery Death

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Ranking pretty high amongst paid apps for the last couple of weeks, Robot Unicorn Attack would be a mystery if it weren’t for the Adult Swim brand. Seems you can take a ridiculous premise that would never in a million years succeed as a handheld arcade-style game and then attach Adult Swim to the title, and it sells. Ballistic HC Series iPhone 4 Case Review

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

‘Designed to survive life’ is how Ballistic describe their the rough, tough HC Series case, and I’m thankful that my life doesn’t include any activities that would stand a chance at defeating the protection this case offers, as from the look and feel of it, you would have to be pretty reckless to put the

Do You Read eBooks on Your iPad?

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

The iPad vs. Kindle argument was being discussed on a recent episode of Cranky Geeks, number 233 if you’re interested, and one point in particular caught my attention, when guest Sarah Lacy said that she doesn’t read eBooks on the iPad due to its backlit screen. Coincidentally, Amazon have just debuted a new television ad for
