Monday, September 20th, 2010

It was at the end of August that we reviewed Virtual City Free and found it to be a very enjoyable taste of things to come.  Luckily we haven’t had to wait long either, as G5 Entertainment have just launched the full version of Virtual City (iTunes link), and we’re pleased to say it lives

Ringtone Designer Pro: Create Unlimited Ringtones for Your iPhone

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Ringtone Designer Pro — The ringtone on your iPhone says a lot about you. Choose the wrong ringtone and your otherwise hip iPhone will become a loud label announcing your inner geek. Unfortunately, sometimes, the only way to get the perfect snippet of sound is to create your own ringtone . Here’s a perfect example of why you need  Ringtone Designer Pro . True story: I once downloaded David Bowie’s “Pressure” as a ringtone. I thought I was getting the classic retro-hip signature bassline, so famously stolen by Vanilla Ice. I did not test this assumption. Rather, I got a call in the middle of a meeting with about a dozen people who outranked me. And what came out of my phone? “bum bum bum buddy bum bum”? No. I got David Bowie sounding like he’s crying into his methamphetimines, half-shouting, half-sobbing “Pressure!” I was not selected for that project lead. With Blackout Labs’ Ringtone Designer Pro, this does not have to happen to you. You get to pick a song from your iPod library, then select the part of the song you want for your ringtone, through a simple and intuitive interface. Wrangling its way through a set of updates that fixed compatibility issues with iOS 4, Super Mega Worm developers Deceased Pixels LLC has an apparent hit on their hands. Hearken the days of quarters lost at the arcade, Super Mega Worm is a piece of 8 bit imitation, old school glory with more charm than Centipede. Virion SD for iPhone is Not So Viral

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Virion SD for iPhone is a puzzle style game based on matching shapes to receptors to complete levels within a specified time frame. Virion is definitely unlike any puzzle game I’ve seen before, but its uniqueness doesn’t necessarily mean it is destined for greatness. It has a few strong points, but some of the developer descriptors used in the App Store, such as “intuitive,” “natural,” and “satisfaction,” are not necessarily ones I’d agree with.
