Get Free Video Search and Sharing with VideoBox

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

VideoBox by LiveMixing, Inc. is a video app that gives access to popular video sharing sites and allows users to watch, download and share videos with friends. VideoBox features a search function, email and also allows users to push video from their computer to their phone. The app is free and is ad supported. It appears the primary sources of videos on VideoBox are YouTube and Vimeo. For that reason, it only surpasses the default Youtube app for having one additional video source, but the search function returns relevent results from both sources and is likely based primarily on popularity and use. The navigation and video viewing is similar to YouTube, with the exception of the slightly obtrusive ads towards the bottom of the screen.(…) Read the rest of Get Free Video Search and Sharing with VideoBox All App Reviews © AppCraver.com, 2010. | Get Free Video Search and Sharing with VideoBox | Best iPad Apps | Best Free Apps

The iPhone and iPad: Positive, Educational Tools

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

When returning by plane from a recent trip abroad, I was sitting behind two parents and their young daughter, who despite the rather bumpy ride was behaving really well.  As the journey wore on, she became a little restless so to keep her entertained, her mother took out her iPod Touch, started an app and

Cartoon Roach Has Smashing Fun

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

If you ran to the whack-a-mole booth when visiting a favorite arcade or just love to squash insects then Cartoon Roach may be just the game you need. It is one of those games with a fun, simple concept that makes for a great time killer; the object is to go nuts smashing roaches as they scurry across the screen. But you can’t get too crazy because some of them are “good” roaches and squashing them will spell your end. The more roaches you smash earns additional weapons and tools. After a few smashes you will notice golden stars accumulating at the bottom of the screen — now shaking the device will kill off all evil roaches. A pesticide bomb may appear which will automatically destroy the hordes of pests. Or there is the ever-elusive gift package that quadruples the score when killing off roaches. Baby Rescue is Pint-Sized Piloting Fun

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

If piloting a helicopter and rescuing innocent anime babies stranded all over the world is your idea of fun, then Baby Rescue by Kooapps LLC is the game for you. Using basic touch screen controlls combined with the accelerometer feature of the iPhone, you pilot a helicopter across colorfully animated landscapes with the mission of rescuing all babies on the level. An arcade style game, Baby Rescue has simple-to-understand controls that are somewhat challenging to master. The cutesy sound effects and colorful graphics combine to make it a pleasant game for any age, though it was clearly designed to appeal to kids. Should Apple Recall the iPhone 4? They’ve Got Two Weeks to Decide

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Read this: When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone’s lower left side—an easy thing, especially for lefties—the signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you’re in an area with a weak signal. Nothing new, right?  We’ve been hearing and reading this since the launch of the

Sudoku Uno Brings Brain Twister to iPad

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Sudoku Uno is a good reimagining of the popular puzzle game for the iPad. Sudoku is played by placing the numbers one through nine only one time each in rows and columns. Traditionally it is played in newspapers or consumable Sudoku books. To ease the transition to the iPad’s multi-touch screen Sudoku Uno includes a red and green pencil, which when selected will temporarily put a number in place before making the choice with a tile. The best way to experience the game is in landscape mode as the game board and peripheral items fill up the screen. There is also plenty of help for those still getting used to Sudoku. Word Absurd is an Uncommonly Good Word Search

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Word searches are all the more fun when you’re searching for the bizarre words rather than the mundane. Word Absurd by developer new-comer Trephination Proved Worthless LLC is a collection of word searches where the hidden words are slightly more unique than the standard fare. Logically grouped according to categories, Word Absurd words aren’t in your average Sunday paper puzzle. Word Absurd features a broad array of categories from Down of the Farm (things on a farm) to Doggy Style (pets). The words aren’t displayed on the puzzle screen and hunting for words relevent to the category is half the fun. If you need a hint, tap on the word list and Word Absurd will let you know what you’re looking for.(…) Read the rest of Word Absurd is an Uncommonly Good Word Search All App Reviews © AppCraver.com, 2010. | Word Absurd is an Uncommonly Good Word Search | Best iPad Apps | Best Free Apps

HelloTXT Seeks to Streamline Social Media Posting

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

HelloTXT is designed to update your myriad of social networks from within one application. It is a great concept, but a bit buggy in its current form. HelloTXT is a universal app that works across iOS devices. All the major social media networks are here: Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Google Buzz; over 50 in total. The HelloTXT menu is divided into four sections: Post, My Feed, Settings and Networks. Portrait mode displays these four features with an icon, while landscape has a sidebar menu with access to other options. From within the Networks section a user can easily tap on a social network, input the login credentials and have the ability to send out updates. Posting to a network is pretty easy and works well. Protect your iPad with a carbon fiber case from monCarbone

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

One of the issues that I have found with cases for the iPad is that they sometimes add a decent amount of weight. After all, the iPad already comes in at 1.5 or 1.6 pounds, so even a little extra can make a difference. That said, how about something carbon fiber? Its lightweight, and many
