Friday, May 21st, 2010

Seesmic for the iPhone has just been released, and the app comes touting support for Twitter, Facebook and Ping.fm. In other words, you can now update many many (read: more than you need) social networks all at the same time. But my sarcasm aside, the Seesmic for iPhone app seems to be a worthy addition

iCountCash: The One With the Most Money Wins

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Said to be “as addictive as real cash,” iCountCash adds to the long line of addictive frantic tapping, swiping, and poking games available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and now iPad. While it’s kind of baffling how games like this have caught on, there’s no denying the popularity of such non-placid entertainment for the touch screen devices. If you thought popping virtual bubble wrap was fun, wait till you find out how many bills you can count in 30 seconds. iCountCash features a simple interface with a screen representing a stack of money – US Dollar, Pound, and Euro denominations – that you flip through by swiping down the corners to “reveal” the next bill. You can play against the clock in 15, 30, and 60 second timed intervals or go for marathon mode if being plagued with carpal tunnel is your goal. If you’re a fast enough swiper, you can rack up a dollar amount score faster and higher than the National Debt. Mobile Active Defense is a Watchdog for Your Inbox

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Mobile Active Defense wants to bolster your email security—if you’re willing to watch endless tutorial videos. The purpose behind MAD is to help catch and filter malware, phishing scams and other unsavory attacks on your inbox, only letting “pure mail” (their term) through. It does an admirable job of doing so and might be recommended for someone who lacks sufficient knowledge about these issues. But for most users this service will probably not be needed. When firing up MAD for the first time there is a rather lengthy video that walks you through the basic features of the service. Tap anywhere you want. It doesn’t matter—the video isn’t going away. It can’t be paused or sped up. You must sit and watch. So, then you arrive at the settings menu, ready to put in the account information. Beware: (…) Read the rest of Mobile Active Defense is a Watchdog for Your Inbox All App Reviews © AppCraver.com, 2010. | Mobile Active Defense is a Watchdog for Your Inbox | Best iPad Apps | Best Free Apps

Opti-Mitt – Product Review

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Finger prints, smudges, grease and grime are all enemies of the touchscreen device, ruining not only your view but in the case of the iPhone, that beautiful shine too.  Wiping the screen on your shirt, your trouser leg or a tissue is one way to do it, but if you’re concerned about scratches, it’s rarely
