Toy Physics App Review – Physical Perfection!

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

The naming of your product can be crucial to its success.  For example, a car tyre with the word ’skid’ somewhere in its name would probably not be a good idea, while on the other hand, slapping an ‘i’ in front of another word seems to work quite well!  But Toy Physics?  Toys are usually

The Impossible Game – It So Is

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Finally, a game that completely lives up to its name. The Impossible Game is exactly what it sounds like. Well, OK, while “impossible” may seem like a strong word, “improbable” or “really, really hard” doesn’t have the same ring to it. Besides, for someone with slow reaction time, The Impossible Game is pretty much just that – impossible. Of course, it won’t be as if you actually believe it’s an impossible game. And even if you do, you’ll keep trying to beat it. The Impossible Game got its start as an Xbox Live Indie game and is now available for iPhone and Touch. To access the original Xbox Live version, simply beat the first level on practice mode. Waaaaaaaay easier said than done. As evidenced by my 141st attempt, the Impossible Game is no easy game to navigate. It’s a simple enough concept – tap to jump once, hold to repeatedly jump — no problem. Super Stylus: Use Pogo Sketch for iPad Drawing Apps

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

While testing out a drawing app on the iPad recently, I was sadly reminded that oversized fingers are not the best tools for creating fine art details. There are so many fantastic drawing apps for the iPad that I don’t want to be held back by my clumsy pointers. Then I remembered the Pogo Stylus from Ten One Design . I reviewed it ages ago, and loved it from day one. Turns out they have updated the original touchscreen stylus for use with the iPad. The Pogo Sketch is designed for trackpads and touchscreens so it works great with the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and can also be used with the MacBook to emulate a pen tablet. I could have purchased the Pogo Sketch online , but I was feeling a bit impatient, so one quick trip to the Apple store and I was in business. Awesome. The Pogo Sketch is just the thing to let loose creatively on the iPad. The stylus glides across the iPad’s touchscreen for simple dragging, selecting and typing — useful for any app, but especially helpful for doodling, drawing, photo editing and other creative pursuits. An extra bonus? iClothing Offers Unusual Way of Tying Your iPad Down, Sport.

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Carrying all your tech about can be a bit of a pain, as pockets can only hold so many items without a) generating unsightly bulges, or b) pulling your trousers down.  This leaves the option of a Murse if you’re a bloke or filling your handbag up with even more stuff if you’re a girl.

Is This Goodbye? iPhone 3G Could Be Discontinued Soon

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

If the reports are correct, there is every chance the iPhone 3G will be discontinued very soon.  The smart money is on Apple showing off their new iPhone model at WWDC, making the 3G two generations old and unable to run all the features in the next version of the iPhone OS. Speculation on its demise

Feng Shui Game: Keep the Balance!

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Happy Blue Fish’s Feng Shui Game: Keep the Balance! is a charmingly animated app that tests your memory and balance skills in a Zen themed, interactive game. The Feng Shui Game offers four modes of gameplay including a two-player Duo version. Players learn and memorize the feeding and destruction cycle of the elements fire, earth, water, metal, and tree while the game tests memory skills in three of the four games. The final game, Zen, pits players against the elements of wind and rain to keep their Feng Shui master balanced atop his feng shui pole. Whether or not the Feng Shui Game has anything to do with the actual practice of Feng Shui is open to interpretation. It does present the concept of Yin and Yang in a very casual, lighthearted manner and the games are designed so that anyone with a basic understanding of memorization can play. The two-player Duo mode is a friendly challenge to see whose memory is best and the other modes feature single-player games with unlockable achievements.(…) Read the rest of Feng Shui Game: Keep the Balance!
