Friday, April 30th, 2010

Following on from this morning’s post on Apple’s acceptance of the Puff Puff Pass smoking game, we now have a story on the App Store’s rejection of iSealClub.  The game is pretty much as it sounds, however the use of ’satirical’ graphics, no blood and a unique clubbing motion control system are used in its

Browsing the App Store this weekend?  Here are eight new or updated apps worth taking a closer look at if you are: Fast & Furious Adrenaline. It may sound like just another entry into the seemingly endless F&F franchise,

Porn Bad, Smoking Good According to Apple

Friday, April 30th, 2010

That’s right kids! Forget about those naughty ladies in bikini ads, you want to be practicing smoking with an application described as ‘almost as addictive as smoking for real!’ We know Steve Jobs dislikes pornography, but his morality police down in the App Store approval room obviously haven’t been given instructions to avoid

Jailbreaking news: Spirit jailbreak for the iPad should be coming soon

Friday, April 30th, 2010

A jailbreak for the iPad is coming, though we are still unsure exactly when. This will be the Spirit jailbreak, which was demo’d by Dev-Team member MuscleNerd shortly after the iPad was originally released (see embed video below). Anyway, we are still waiting on a release notification of Spirit, but in the meantime the Dev-Team has

Meet the guy who found the iPhone 4G/iPhone HD [Wired Interview]

Friday, April 30th, 2010

I have remained pretty quite during this whole iPhone 4G/iPhone HD mess, but wanted to pass on an interview that Wired did with the guy who found the device and kicked this all off. His name is Brian Hogan, and seems to tell a story similar to what we have already heard come from Gizmodo.

Zombie Smash: Visceral Evisceration

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Visually and thematically, Zombie Smash may remind you of its somewhat more lush castle-defense cousin Plants vs. Zombies . Sound effects are similar too, as are the as-you-go instructions that appear over your screen. But “look” is where the similarities end, and “feel” is where the differences begin. In Zombie Smash, you do what you’ve always wanted to do to Zombies. You pimp-slap ‘em. You throw ‘em across the screen. You beat ‘em, you shoot ‘em, you drop heavy rocks on ‘em, you blow ‘em up with grenades. And you do it up-close and personal, with actual tapping, dragging, flinging exertion that builds to such a full-body frenzy that your spouse kicks you out of bed by “night 11″ —not of the marriage, of the game. This actually happened to me. I was detonating land-mines, flinging survivors to their deaths (or whatever the undead do when you dispatch them), stunning the fast she-zombies, taking out too-heavy-to-flick Bruno with rock piles and grenades, and tapping the screen compulsively to collect reward stars… (…) Read the rest of Zombie Smash: Visceral Evisceration All App Reviews © AppCraver.com, 2010. | Zombie Smash: Visceral Evisceration | Best iPad Apps | Best Free Apps

Rediscover Your Groove

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

A newbie in the long and growing list of music apps, Groove lets you take your music library for a new spin by providing a quick and easy way to listen to your songs. Groove was designed to help users “rediscover” their music library and it accomplishes this by being organized, intuitive, and bit more than “genius.” Groove’s options are simple. Choose Feelin’ Groovy to get a mix of songs that go well together based on a song chosen at random from your library, or choose Surprise Me for a randomly generated mix, artist, or album. Users can also choose Favorites to access a mix of frequently listened to songs and Three of a Kind plays up to five sets of three songs by the same artists. Each of the music mixes generated by Groove contains up to 15 songs. If you aren’t as pleased with the mix as you’d hoped, simply tap “refresh” within the featured list and a new one is automatically generated.
