Apps that make me willing to jailbreak: QuickReply

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Just to offer something a little different from all of the rumors, I will mention another app that makes me willing to jailbreak. Of course, I should point out that after the announcement later today, the whole jailbreaking scene is likely to become unstable for a little while again. So if you decide to jailbreak

Google releases updated HTML5 based Google Voice web app for the iPhone

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

I woke up yesterday morning feeling pretty stoked that I finally received a beta invite to check out VoiceCentral, the BlackSwan edition. And within hours that excitement seemed to dwindle a bit. That is not to say anything bad about BlackSwan, because at first glance it seems great, but in reality I did not have

iPhone Developer Program website leak: “Need to update this for the 27th launch”

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The title on this one really says it all — but at the same time does not really tell us much of anything. Basically, the license agreement portion on the iPhone Developer website had an interesting place holder that read; “Place holder Agreement — Need to update this for the 27th launch” Of course, that most likely

Apple wants to price ebooks at $12.99 or $14.99, according to the Wall Street Journal

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The tablet, the tablet, the device that is supposed to be the end all device. Well, that I am not sure about, but one feature (assuming the tablet is actually released) is going to be the ability to read ebooks. And with that it seems that Apple has been working on some back end deals

Possible leaked image of the Apple Tablet

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

So, you thought that just because this was the day of the official Apple event that the rumors would stop, well I thought the same thing but it seems we still have time for a few last tidbits. Anyway, this one is showing off what is thought to be the Apple Tablet. Bottom line, at this

Apple Tablet gets confirmed by McGraw-Hill CEO

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

With all of the leaks and rumors this latest bit is hardly coming as a surprise, but it seems that the Apple Tablet has been confirmed. Of course, this information is not coming by way of the Apple event, or by Steve Jobs and as of now the media has not yet gotten an image

Video Strip Poker Offers More than Barebones

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Video Strip Poker — “Hi, my name is Natasha, I’m a 21-year old student and I love country music. Would you like to play strip poker? I may be a scatterbrain…hey, try to get me undressed!” If poker and hotties are your thing, then you’ll probably like Arawella’s Video Strip Poker . The idea is the same as it ever was: Play poker and if you win often enough, your opponent has to disrobe. No surprise: The app is aimed at 17-year olds and up. Launch the app, choose one of five women – Natasha, Maria, Nancy, Fiby or Silvia — to play against. To help you choose your opponent (aside from their looks and come-hither poses), you can read about each woman’s supposed occupation, interests and background. Video Strip Poker gives you a choice between Texas Hold’em poker and Draw poker. It’s not likely you would ante up $2.99 for this app without knowing how to play poker, but if you don’t, there’s a comprehensive beginner’s guide that explains the rules and hand rankings. Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

With the housing market in crisis, it’s no surprise that hundreds upon thousands of Americans are being forced to move every week. And a lot of them are moving into smaller houses or even apartments. There are plenty of ways to search for apartments, but few ways to do so while disconnected from the computer.

Video: Apple Newton commercial, or what some say was the first Apple Tablet

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Here we have some found footage of the first commercial for the Apple Newton, which was simply titled “Who Is Newton.” The reasoning behind posting this? Partly because I still have a love for the Newton, partly because I am still sad that I sold my awesome Newton setup a while back and partly because I
