Jet Through Sky and Blast Aliens in Defendroid

Friday, January 29th, 2010

The iPhone’s accelerometer has made possible  many great aviation and racing games. It works again in Defendroid , a fun jet vs. aliens aerial combat game that has some fun, albeit simple, gameplay. The scenario is familiar: you take charge of a fighter jet that must blast aliens. By tilting the phone and tapping on the screen you zip through the sky and shooting down enemies. A sliding bar on the left accelerates the jet, while tapping on the right side of the screen launches your weapons. The goal is to destroy an odd-shaped alien mother ship along with the smaller fighters in order to advance to the next level. There are also light blue objects that you can fly through to replenish your energy. Flying was pretty easy and almost just as much fun as attacking the enemies. A radar screen in the bottom left keeps track of where the aliens are, although it is a bit tiny to be truly effective. I am planning to purchase a 16GB Apple iPad, here are my thoughts

Friday, January 29th, 2010

I am sure many of you have reached overload status on the amount of Apple iPad information, however I plan on making a purchase (once Apple allows me) and wanted to share some of my thoughts as to why. I also purposely delayed this post a bit because I wanted to take a few days

Friday, January 29th, 2010

The eBook reading ability of the iPad was one of the more attractive new features discussed during its announcement, but now that the UK’s iPad site has gone live at apple.com/uk, The Register spotted an exception has been added at the base of the page.  Despite the small font used, it represents a rather large

FCC approval still pending for the Apple iPad

Friday, January 29th, 2010

The other day I wrote a post wondering when the iPad was going to be available for sale, or even for pre-order. Well it seems that I now have the answer, or at least part of the answer to that question. Sadly, I am still not sure when the iPad will be available for purchase, however

iPad Announcement Saw Tweet Explosion

Friday, January 29th, 2010

It’s fair to say that between the moment Steve Jobs walked on stage to his exit one-and-a-half hours later, the Internet was alive with talk of the newly announced iPad.  It didn’t stop there either, as the often heated discussions continued on into the day and night. To gauge just how much attention was on the

iCelebrate ~ Valentine’s Day Wants to Win Your Heart With Music

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Who doesn’t love a good love song, smooth jazz, or a little R&B? OK, probably plenty of people – especially as Valentine’s Day approaches and those with contempt for the hopelessly romantic and barrage of candy hearts and chocolate flowers that celebrate them are reminded of the pending day in every store. The App Store to is filled with reminders of the pending love fest, and  iCelebrate ~ Valentine’s Day will help you celebrate or, as the case may be, rue the day alongside a quart of chocolate chip ice cream. Much like Conduits Technologies, Inc.’s iCelebrate ~ Christmas, which I’m sad to say I missed, iCelebrate ~ Valentine’s Day is a holiday countdown with streaming music and animated backgrounds. You can choose to stream specific genres, including love songs, smooth jazz, easy listening, and R&B or stream them all. If you don’t like what’s playing, switch stations with the touch of a button. Magic Earthwand Game Review

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

I recently took at look at all of the games I’ve previously reviewed and released very few of them had a story behind them. Most games go for a quick, cheap thrill without bothering to lie down a story behind what you’re doing. Sure, most people just want to play their game and be left

AutoRingtones Pro Provides Endless Custom Ringtones for a Buck

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

In a you-type-it, it-says-it fashion, AutoRingtone Pro Text to Speech Ringtones combines No Ties Software’s entire collection of free ringtone makers (plus throws in a few bonus sounds and voices) to create an all-inclusive app. With sound effects similar to those in 100 Sounds , a previous app from the developer, and a selection of computer synthesized voices, AutoRingtone Pro allows users to create customized ringtones based on who’s calling. If simple text-to-voice ringtones for caller ID purposes aren’t practical enough for you, then being that AutoRingtone Pro is uncensored it’s easy to create bizarre, off-the-wall ringtones based on nothing but your own sick and twisted humor. I’m not suggesting you go overboard, but the fact remains when using AutoRingtone Pro you could . If you enable Manual input, you can make your phone say literally anything you want it to when it rings—assigning a custom ringtone for each of your friends. For those less adventurous souls, the Auto input works by simply typing your name and the name of the caller, which will create a pretty straightforward ringtone message. You don’t have to use intro sound effects or crazy voices, but should you want to, it’s an option.(…) Read the rest of AutoRingtones Pro Provides Endless Custom Ringtones for a Buck © AppCraver , 2010. | AutoRingtones Pro Provides Endless Custom Ringtones for a Buck | Get our iPhone Reviews on Facebook & Twitter !
