Bobby Carrot Forever v1.3 Preview Screenshots

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

With the official release of iPhone OS 3.0 just around the corner, developers are trying to get their applications prepped for all of the new features and hurdles that are in store, and game developer FDG Entertainment is one of them. FDG released Bobby Carrot Forever in the App Store way back in January 2009.  The game has since garnered a nice following, and because of this, FDG intends to further support Bobby Carrot Forever into the future. Bobby Carrot Forever already contains tons of great content, including 6 different worlds totaling 72 levels, 17 CD-quality audio tracks, solid controls, and mind bending puzzles.  With the planned version 1.3 update, Bobby Carrot Forever is only going to get better.  FDG intends to skip 1.2 and go straight to 1.3, which simply shows you how much they have in store for the game. Bobby Carrot Forever version 1.3 will include: Japanese guest composer “Atsushi Fukai” made 2 music tracks for the game Free level pack: Surreal (difficulty setting: High) New Worldmap 5 purchasable level packs on Worldmap 2 Prepped for further Worldmaps which will be accessible through the train station (buy tickets) New collectible element (which is still a secret), but no additional golden carrots for the time being Bobby Carrot Forever version 1.3 should be available sometime in July.  FDG was kind enough to send along some screenshots from version 1.3 so you can see what’s in store.  We have included the rest of the 1.3 preview screenshots below. Bobby Carrot Forever is currently available in the App Store for $2.99. Next-Gen iPhone Matte Case Rumors Resurface, Multiple 3G Models

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

The next generation iPhone rumors are starting to come together and actually make a little more sense.  iLounge is now claiming to have additional insider information that indicates Apple will be offering the new iPhone in six different variations along with a less scratchable matte finish. According to iLounge ’s trusted sources, the next generation iPhone will come in two different storage capacities across three different models, depending on your local mobile carriers available services, to create a total of six different iPhone models.  The models are being described as 3G, enhanced 3G, and a mainland China version.  Each version will only be made available to specific areas depending on carrier support.  China would obviously get the Chinese only version, countries equipped with regular 3G would get the 3G version, and countries such as the U.S. would get the enhanced 3G version to utilize the faster 7.2Mbps data speeds. iLounge is also reporting that the iPhone’s form factor is likely to remain unchanged as previously rumored , but they also indicate that the next generation iPhone will have a new matte plastic finish to make it less prone to scratching.  This rumor would fall perfectly in line with a couple other rumors, including MacRumors’ alleged leaked Chinese images. If these rumors are true, and the next generation iPhone ends up utilizing some sort of scratch-resistant matte finish, would you still feel the need to purchase a case for your iPhone? They’re here…

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

So I guess this will be more of a news article than anything else, but when I say what I have to say I don’t think you will care. Ever heard of a small little company called Capcom? Well guess what? During a speech at the Reuters Global Technology Summit in Tokyo, Capcom Cheif Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe announced that Capcom has over ten games planned for launch on the iPhone in 2009! Yup, you heard that right. Capcom is going to give us over ten different titles by the end of the year. That…is…awesome! Get the rumors started because they unfortunately did not name which titles they are going to be releasing. Of course they didn’t. That would be too easy. Bah! Either way, it’s good news for any Capcom fan! So far Capcom has given us the recently released Resident Evil: Degeneration and Mega Man II this past March, among others. A review for Mega Man II can be found here by the way. Capcom has a giant list of games at its disposal to choose from. One can only imagine what they have in store for us. Me? I hope we get something like a Street Fighter game or Devil May Cry for example. I personally think Devil May Cry is tailor made for the iPhone, but that’s just me. Perhaps 1942? What do you guys think? What games would you like to see from Capcom? App Pick of the Week So I just found out that Rollercoaster Rush has been brought to the iPhone by Digital Chocolate. Once again another great title by this developer. There is a free version and a $2.99 version as well. Basically you are in control of the speed of the roller coaster and have to make it to the end of the track without crashing the cars. Sounds easy right? It’s harder than it looks and incredibly addicting. Retro Game of the Week So three weeks running and still, nobody has figured out what this game is…awesome! Last week I gave the clue that you pilot a F-14 Tomcat. This week, I will say that the name of the aircraft that you pilot in the game is also part of the name of the game. Confused? Good! As always, tell me the name of the game and the system it was on. Good luck and see you next week. Apple changes mind and accepts Eucalyptus app

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Once again, a public furor and developer outcry seems to have changed Apple’s stance on a product rejected from the App Store. Apple recently rejected an app (Eucalyptus, an e-book reader) because it gave people access to “inappropriate sexual content” by allowing people to read the Kama Sutra and other related works. Never mind that several

Take The BMW Z4 For A Spin With Artificial Life’s New iPhone Game

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Artificial Life released their extremely successful BMW Z4 - An Expression of Joy. - Lite in March of this year.  Instead of just giving you the ability to drive a BMW Z4 Roadster, the game allows you to paint on a giant blank canvas using only the tires of a BMW Z4 Roadster as your paint brush, and thanks to the success of this game, Artificial Life decided to create a more complete version that is now available in the App Store. BMW Z4 Experience not only allows you to paint with a Z4 Roadster just like its free sibling, but it also contains a bunch of new additions to the gameplay to make the experience last even longer.   BMW Z4 Experience features a BMW Z4 Roadster modeled after exact BMW specifications using 3D computer-aided design, which you can use in three of the four mini-games included in the game. The mini-games include: Free Driving, Art Experience, Driving Experience, and Navigation Experience.  Free Driving allows you to draw anything you wish using only your Z4’s tires as a paintbrush.  You can change the color of each tire to create some very interesting pieces of art.  The Art Experience allows you to create splatter paintings instead of brushstroke paintings by simply circling around the random paint drops on the canvas to make them pop, creating even more unique artwork.  The Driving Experience allows you to take to the road through five intense obstacle courses.  Finally, the Navigation Experience is a puzzle game where you must find the shortest route between a number of destination points.  The navigation experience contains 30 brain-teasing levels.   BMW Z4 Experience also contains the Facebook Connect feature that allows you to share your artwork with friends. You could always give BMW Z4 - An Expression of Joy. - Lite a try first to experience the painting portion of the game for free, but since BMW Z4 Experience is now available in the App Store for the low launch price of $.99, you may just want to go straight to the full version. Embedded below is a gameplay video for BMW Z4 Experience . Related Posts Tired Of Being A Mobster? Become A Rockstar Instead! June 1st cover of New Yorker done on the iPhone

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Artist Jorge Colombo took about an hour to fingerpaint a cool-looking Times Square scene on his iPhone using Brushes, a $4.99 iPhone drawing app. Now, it’s the June 1st cover for The New Yorker. Talk about going places. I’m guessing the editors of the magazine saw some kind of weighty symbolism in such a stunt, but

Apple reconsiders, offers approval for Eucalyptus book reader app without any content restrictions

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

It is pretty safe to say that Apple had a change of heart due to all the coverage on this one. Anyway, if you remember back to last Friday we told you how the Eucalyptus book reader was denied approval because it offered users the possibility of downloading “objectionable content.” Of course, in this case

Another Thread in the Rumor Mill: Apple WWDC 2009 iPhone changes

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

The biggest announcement of the upcoming Apple WWDC 2009 and the biggest question mark as well is the new version of the iPhone. A new model is coming for sure, but we don’t know what will be in it, exactly. Most probably, the new Apple cell will keep its current design. Since Steve Jobs came to

Brushes iPhone app used to create June 1 cover art for The New Yorker

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Nothing like a nice lighthearted story that shows you just how far the iPhone has been mixed into daily life. They say there is an app for everything, and this just goes to add a little further evidence to make that a true statement. An artist by the name of Jorge Colombo will have his work
